Talon was created by me
in early August of 1997 as a little "mascot" for my page. I wanted to have some
pretty side graphics to greet people on my pages since I didn't have any photos
of Ed to really put up and I mostly had my art on link hypertext. I decided
to do an eagle, and then I thought.. Eagles should have blue eyes.. especially
if they are involved with Belfour (apparently Belfour was thinking the same
thing when he designed his new Dallas Stars mask). Then I started thinking of
names for the lil guy.... and it hit me.. Talon.. after the Eagle Talon racecar
Ed drives..
Since then I've been having
fun incorporating more images of Talon all over my page, greeting people to
go back to the main page after they've visited interior pages, prompting them
to find the email link quicker, wishing happy holidays.. and now becoming more
and more of an important "character" for the page.
Talon was modeled after
a parrot I had, was a cuddly little guy but only to me.. anyone else, he'd bite
and growl and hiss at. Most of that was just grumpy attitude, but he did hit
his mark on occasion.. me however.. I never had to worry about. If you ever
notice some of Talon's dispositions and even acrobatics being very parrot-like..
theres a very good reason for it! :)
Talon to my "Belfour"
character (who more than likely isn't like the real Belfour, I'm guessing),
is pretty much how my parrot was to me. A good friend, who loved to get into
trouble, steal my food, cause problems - especially if it involved getting other
people mad around me, being in the spotlight a lot, and of course cuddly. I
hope to be able to cover all these types of attitudes and personalities and
funny things I see on tv interviews and articles through the cartoons I'm doing.
Below you will find some
of the images I've used on the page, however, they are in black and white (you
can still see the blueline in some of them) and larger so you can see details
that the other images may not show well enough. Enjoy!
